OUR VISION

ConneCTErs Australia’s vision is to be Australia’s leading organisation supporting individuals, families and carers living with suspected or probable CTE.

Beyond providing professional support services, ConneCTErs Australia is committed to strong advocacy for prevention and early intervention, national health promotion, and collaboration with professionals and organisations nationally and event globally for CTE.

When we protect brains, we protect lives.

OUR MISSION

At ConneCTErs Australia our mission is to be actively involved in building awareness and understanding of CTE on all levels, supporting people living with and caring for someone with CTE through clinically informed and qualified service delivery, providing health promotion and education across various platforms which is expert and evidence-based, advocating for individuals to have access to timely care and be treated with respect and dignity on their CTE journey, and supporting our partners and national research into CTE.

OUR HISTORY

ConneCTErs Australia was founded by Kayleen Doyle after her husband Chris was diagnosed with probable CTE. The organisation initially commenced by delivering localised health promotion initiatives and supporting Associate Professor Rowena Mobbs with the Concussion Connect specialised CTE group support program, which later evolved into Circle CTE.

In early 2025, Sarah Willey transitioned into the organisation, guiding it into its next phase of growth. This included expanding national health promotion efforts, expanding the Board of Directors, securing government funding to deliver critical support services, and contributing to prevention and education initiatives at a national level.

Dr Mobbs also been an integral force behind the establishment of ConneCTErs

Australia as our Chief Medical Officer and working closely to ensure people living with suspected of probable CTE have access to timely intervention and required support, along with joining forces across a national clinical network.

WHEN WE PROTECT BRAINS, WE PROTECT LIVES.

We are driven to create a national access point for support, advice, advocacy and education given the challenges and isolation caused by CTE.

We do not want anyone to suffer in silence. Living with and caring for someone with probable CTE can be isolating. We are here to help.

We are promoting and campaigning for people to access timely, affordable and helpful investigations and treatment for probable CTE, nationally.

We are focused on protecting growing brains. Every child deserves the chance to grow, learn and thrive without preventable risks.

We are committed to support strong and effective concussion management, prioritise brain health and safety in all aspects of daily life, and ensure that head impacts and concussions receive the timely and appropriate attention they require for a strong recovery.

We recognise men and women's health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and domestic and family violence, which all require national attention to prevent and manage probable CTE.

We do not want to eliminate professional or contact sport. We are pro-sport for overall health and wellness!

We want to see the nation come together to drive down CTE-related suicides and violence by championing early support, informed pathways to care, community understanding, and collective responsibility for change. This will be achieved by working closely with the people, our community and national services, and both state and federal Government agencies.

We are focused on the people as everyone is deserving of help and support. CTE does not discriminate and can impact anyone.
