Concussion Connect is an innovative group therapy program for those suffering the effects of repeated head injury, with risk of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
Developed by Dr Rowena Mobbs it aims to provide neurological and psychological advice and connect families to relevant local care.
Connecters Australia is the early partner in furthering this work.
Concussion Connect was developed as a way to enable patients at risk of CTE or with suspected CTE to reach help, and families to feel supported.
Concussion Connect aims to provide a validation of a patient and family’s lived unique experience of repeated head injury and to provide:
- Basic guided clinical neurological and psychological advice
- A basic understanding of CTE
- Individualised and matched local care supports
- General brain health awareness
- Prevention strategies in head injury
Concussion Connect has been run in Sydney by Dr Rowena Mobbs since 2002.
As an early partner we are working towards rolling out Concussion Connect across Australia in 2024.
